  With its name evoking ancient Egyptian sculptures, who would believe that this breed was  born in Canada  just 50 years ago? Although  hairless cat for sale   were reported long ago in America (probably in the pre-Columbian era), it was in Toronto in 1966 that the first specimens of the current line were born: Plum and Dutchie's Nefertiti .           Two of their descendants, Pinkie and Paloma, accompany Dr Hugo Hernandez to the Netherlands to be crossed with   Devon Rex , but it was not until the 80s that 5 kittens of this type arrived in France. Presented at the Baltard Cat Show by Patrick Challain, they create the event attracting a huge audience, dumbfounded to see a hairless cat for the first time. It is also in France that the first standard of the breed was described, according to Amenophis Clone, daughter of Mogwaï and Gizmo.
